...
You don't get it, do you? she said, staring him deep in the eyes, seeing so much more than the color of his pupils. He shrugged as though it were nothing and walked off. Hot warm tears streamed down her cheeks, and there was nothing she could do about it. She turned and left her mark in the wall, but all the punches and all the cuts could not diminish the pain dripping, dripping, dripping into her. He didn't look back, he didn't flinch. It meant nothing, nothing, nothing. She meant nothing. She walked home, slowly... Letting the rain come down on her, washing away her tears, allowing her to blend in with the world. The yelps escaped from the bottom of her lungs, and she had no control. Everything she had done, everything she had said and done, gone. Out the window, and there she was, left hanging in the rain. The date was approaching, a day to celebrate... and this time, there was no holding back. This time, was her time. If it was all nothing, then why should she care? Why should she understand, if he couldn't? Why should she try. She let her hair down, her fingers shake and the music pound through her. She let him rest his arms on her hips, his chest on hers and his lips on her neck. The faucet closed, and the dripping stopped and her eyes; they ignited. Passion, at the very spot his lips lifted from, it was like he had burned her. Through and through. The room spun and she stood near, close. If he didn't care, why should she? If he cared this much, why would she stop? If things were falling into place, why would she fight them so hard? Why would she battle with destiny?
